Now the daily news can look like… well… the Daily News! Tabloid is a simple theme that turns your blog into an old-fashioned newspaper.

The screen capture is shown with Caretaker’s Columns plugin activated (highly recomended for this theme). V1.1 includes a 2nd “index” file (”index_with_columns”) which eliminates the need for the plugin. Simply rename this file to “index.php” (renaming the old index to something else in case you want to switch back) and it will work. This solution is nice if you allow viewers to switch themes, as the columns will only appear in the Tabloid theme.

The header utilizes the Algerian font. I rather like it. I’m not sure if there’s a simple way to embed it into the page or not. However, it is a TrueType font which you can make available for your regular readers to install.

This was originally built for WP 1.5, but still functions properly in 2.x

The sidebar already includes the scripting for the Theme Switcher plugin, just in case you want to use it (you’ll need to download the plugin to make it work)
