lorem ipsum A page which generates “greeking”–the fake Latin that simulates word patterns in written speech. It’s a great tool for mocking up pages that will have large sections of text, without having to actually have the text ready.
vision monster A tool for finding the hex codes for colors, characters, and other elements.
color schemer A tool for picking simple color schemes based on a few simple templates. It includes the ability to see what the schemes will look like to people with various types of color blindness.
color schemer v2 Another tool for chosing color schemes for webpages. It includes more colors for each scheme and options to choose not only the basic color scheme, but also to vary some of the parameters such as color intensity
color helper A site which allows you to dynamically set the color values for background, text, and links. It also allows you to set a background image. The feature to “colorify” an existing webpage seems to be unavailable. Just a tip: when you first load the page, everything is black. Enter “ffffff” into the top box and hit the “update” button. This will set the background to white, and allow you to see what you’re doing.
rgb colorboard A simple tool for finding the hex code of a color based on its rgb values. This is a very limited tool.
color hex chart A quick and dirty color chart listing the colors where each hex is a double (i.e. ‘66′ or ‘ff’).
screen calipers
An interesting little tool that allows you to measure anything on your screen in pixels. I haven’t tried them yet. Anyone have a review?
pixie color picker
From their website: “Pixie is an easy-to-use, fast and tiny utility designed especially to fit the needs of Webmasters and Designers. Its a colour picker that includes a mouse tracker. Run it, simply point to a colour and it will tell you the hex, RGB, HTML, CMYK and HSV values of that colour. You can then use these values to reproduce the selected colour in your favorite programs. Pixie will also show the current x y position of your mouse pointer. Its the only tool you’ll need for working with colours.” A
